O-1B Distinguished Organisations Criterion
How to prove you have worked with distinguished companies, labels, studios, or brands.
USCIS wants to see that you performed for, worked with, or were affiliated with organisations, establishments, or events that have a distinguished reputation in your field. The key USCIS test: is the organisation itself well-regarded, and does your affiliation with it demonstrate the level you operate at?
Types of evidence
Signed engagement contracts
Contracts with the distinguished label, studio, gallery, festival, or company documenting the relationship and scope.
Programme / credit documentation
Programmes, playbills, credits, or event listings placing you inside the distinguished organisation's roster.
Public affiliation notices
Press releases, tour announcements, or gallery listings showing you as part of the organisation's roster or programme.
Distinction documentation
Evidence that the organisation itself is distinguished: awards, rankings, press coverage, membership standards, or historical significance.
Expert letters
Written statements from the organisation's director, curator, artistic director, or A&R lead attesting to your engagement.
Compensation records
Contracts or invoices showing the fee level, which independently signals the tier of the engagement.
Evidence by profession

How we build this criterion
Identify the strongest 2-3 engagements
We rank your affiliations by the organisation's reputation and how central your role was, and pick the ones that carry the most weight.
Document each side
For every engagement, we document (a) that the organisation is distinguished and (b) that you were meaningfully part of it. Both are needed.
Coordinate corroboration
We source a letter from someone inside the organisation attesting to your role, and pair it with contracts and public listings.
