# O-1 U.S. Agent Petitioner Service

Lando can act as your U.S. agent petitioner for the O-1 visa where the rules allow an agent to file. How it works, who it suits, and what to expect.

**Quick answer.** An O-1 petition must be filed by a U.S. employer, a U.S. agent, or a foreign employer through a U.S. agent. Lando can act as the U.S. agent petitioner for eligible clients, so you do not need a traditional employer to file for you. Whether an agent can file in your case depends on how you work.

## What a U.S. agent petitioner is

USCIS allows an O-1 petition to be filed by a U.S. agent. The agent files the petition on your behalf, in place of a single direct employer. This is how the O-1 works for people whose work is not tied to one employer.

## When an agent can file

USCIS sets the rules for when an agent may file and which documents the filing must include. Lando checks which route fits you during your free evaluation.

- You work for more than one employer or client.
- You are self-employed or freelance, for example as a founder, consultant or independent creative.
- You work on short engagements, such as tours, productions or projects, arranged with several parties.
- A foreign employer needs a U.S. agent to file for it.

## What Lando does as your agent petitioner

- Reviews your situation and confirms that an agent filing fits how you work.
- Files the petition with USCIS as your U.S. agent.
- Prepares the same petition as any O-1 case: evidence strategy, expert and reference letters, the legal brief and the exhibits.
- Responds to any Request for Evidence, which is included in the fee.
- Coordinates with the licensed U.S. immigration attorneys who work on the case.

## What an agent petition does not change

- You still have to meet the O-1 criteria. An agent does not replace evidence of extraordinary ability or achievement.
- The work must be real. The petition must describe work you will actually do, and Lando cannot invent engagements or documents.
- USCIS decides every petition. Using an agent does not guarantee an approval.
- If you later work for an employer outside the petition, that work may need its own petition. Tell Lando before your plans change.

## How it works with Lando

The process is the same as every Lando case, with the agent filing added:

- Day 1: You get an honest answer. We review your background on a 15-minute call and tell you honestly whether you have a strong case, and exactly what evidence would make it stronger. No retainer. No commitment.
- Days 2 to 4: You know exactly what your case looks like. We build your custom evidence map: which achievements to lead with, which expert letters to commission, and which USCIS criteria your background hits. You see the full picture before we file anything.
- Days 5 to 12: Your petition is built without you lifting a finger. Our team writes your expert support letters, drafts the legal brief, curates every exhibit, and reviews the full petition before it leaves our hands. You approve. We file.
- Day 14: Filed in 2 weeks. You get on with your life. Two weeks in, your petition is filed at USCIS and we manage every communication from there. With premium processing, USCIS issues a decision in 15 business days, and we handle any RFE at no extra charge.

## Cost

Lando's flat fee and the separate USCIS government fees are on the O-1 cost page. Ask on your free call how an agent filing applies to your case.

## Common questions

### Can Lando act as my U.S. agent petitioner?

Yes, where the O-1 rules allow an agent to file. Lando confirms during your free evaluation whether an agent filing fits your situation.

### Do I need a U.S. employer to get an O-1?

The petition must be filed by a U.S. employer, a U.S. agent, or a foreign employer through a U.S. agent. Lando can act as the U.S. agent, so you do not need to find a traditional employer to file.

### Can I use an agent if I work for several clients?

Yes. An agent petition is one way to file when you work for more than one employer or client, where USCIS rules allow it.

### Does using an agent affect my chances?

Each petition is decided on its own evidence. An agent filing does not guarantee an approval, and no one can promise USCIS's decision.

### Is Lando a law firm?

No. Lando is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Petitions are prepared in coordination with licensed U.S. immigration attorneys.
